Welcome to the AG Secure Decentralized Systems at RPTU Kaiserslautern-Landau!

Currently, the internet is controlled by a few powerful companies that offer highly centralized services. Our group aims to reduce the dependency on such companies. In our research, we analyze existing decentralised systems, design improved systems, and evaluate them with regard to security, privacy, effectiveness, and efficiency.

• July 2023: Our paper LeadFL on a new client-side defence against poisoning has been published at ICML.
• June 2023: Our paper Fabricated Flips on data-free attacks on Federated Learning has been published at DSN.
• May 2023: Our paper Maverick Matters on data heterogeneity in Federated Learning has been published at PAKDD.
• May 2023: We have three papers at Financial Cryptography:
  • We introduce Bailout, a protocol that allows intermediaries in PCNs to get out of a payment that takes too long
  • In Extras and Premiums, we integrate redundancy and fees in local payment routing
  • Defending Against Free-rider Attacks in Distributed Generative Adversarial Networks identifies attacks and defenses for MD-GANs
